Free SSL Certificate

Free SSL Certificate

Why does your site need SSL?

  • South African visitors will exit your page immediately if they see a security warning.
  • Google ranks non-SSL websites lower than SSL-secure sites
  • Websites which have SSL are marke safe in your web browser, usually with a secure padlock

What happens if a site has no SSL?

Your website visitors will see this warning message at the top of the page:

When visitors reach a non-SSL (insecure) website they will see a browser warning. Depending on the web browser they are using, it could appear as a warning in the top toolbar area or it may even be a full size (full-page) warning.  This will scare your visitor away because they will feel unsafe on your page.  At this point most visitors simply go to a competitor on a more secure website.

What does SSL cost?

SSL can be expensive when buying from vendors such as Thawte or Verisign, however most websites do not need that level of security unless you’re processing credit cards on your own site.  By comparison, we offer recognised Comodo /  Sectigo SSL certificates at no cost with all our hosting plans.

How do I activate SSL?

Simply sign up for any one of our hosting packages and we’ll auto-activate your free SSL certificate for you. Simple and easy!
